Each course shall be comprised of mid semester assessment test and endsemester examination. The
responsibility of conduct and evaluation of the mid semester assessment test lies with the
course coordinator.
The end semester examination shall be conducted by the university and
question papers shall be set by the controller of examinations except skill and value-added
courses. The mid semester assessment marks awarded to the students in each course shall be
displayed on the notice board well in advance, at least one week before the commencement of end
semester examination The 03/04 and 02 credits paper shall have 04 and 03 units,
respectively.
The evaluation of the skill and value-added courses will be internal Practicals/Tutorials as
applicable in a course (major/minor) are extension of the theory programme in an inbuilt (3+1)
credits course i.e03 credits of theory and 01 credit of practical/tutorial.
However, 02
credits
major course of semester 5 will have only theory component. Each four credits paper will have 75
marks for theory and 25 marks for practical/tutorial. The break-up for 75 marks for theory paper
shall contain 15 marks for mid semester assessment test and 60 marks for end semester
examination.
There will be continuous assessment of 10 marks and final examination of 15
marks
for practical/tutorial component in each course.
The 03 credits paper shall be of 75 marks consisting of 60 marks for external examination and 15
marks for mid semester assessment test. All 02 credit courses shall be of 50 marks, comprising
40 marks for external examination and 10 marks for mid semester assessment test.
Note :-
(i) A candidate who fails in the Internal Assessment (Theory)
shall be
given one more chance within fifteen days from the declaration of the result of the same.
(ii) In case of failure/re-appear category the Internal Assessment earned by the candidate as a
regular student shall be carried forward to the subsequent examination.
(iii) The evaluation of the skill and value-added courses will be internal.
Summer Internship: Each student is required to undergo 02 credits of internship
comprising 50 marks in 5th semester. The board of studies will formulate suitable internship
programme in their respective subject in a way to impart practical knowledge to the students and
proper assessment of the internship course.
The designated Internship Supervisor will monitor the progress and evaluate student internship
course at the end of semester on the basis of Internship Report/Seminar presentation/viva-voce.
The evaluation of the internship course shall be internal.
Research project/Dissertation: Students pursuing Under Graduate Degree
(Research) shall be required to undergo a Research Project/Dissertation of 12 credits (300
marks) in 8th semester.
The respective board of studies shall formulate the curriculum of
research project / dissertation comprising of credit distribution out of 12 credits along with
instructions regarding time bound completion of the project. A separate guideline shall be
issued with regard to the evaluation of the Research project/Dissertation.
